G'day everyone, Just won a cracking deal on a Kubota mini excavator through Heavy Thing Auction, managed to snag it for about $45K, which felt like a fair dinkum price considering what other dealers are asking. I'm keen to hear from others who've won an auction with them – what's the deposit process like? I've been told a Sales Agent will be in touch to sort out the 10-30% deposit, and then the rest for the freight from Brisbane to my farm in regional NSW. Just want to know if it's all smooth sailing after the bid closes. Also, any tips on the freight side of things for a mini-excavator? I've moved smaller stuff before, but this is my first time getting something this big delivered interstate. Heavy Thing mentioned they guide you through it, but I'm always up for hearing real-world experiences. How responsive were the agents for you after you won? And did the freight quotes seem reasonable? Cheers for any insights, legends!

Yeah, mate, the Heavy Thing auction process is pretty straightforward. Won a Kubota mini excavator last month, and a sales agent called me within an hour to sort out the deposit. It was about 20% of the bid, no dramas there.

That's good to hear! I'm eyeing a skid steer on heavything.com this week. How was the freight for your excavator? I'm in rural NSW, so transport costs can be a killer.

Freight for my Komatsu loader from Brisbane to SA was actually pretty reasonable. The agent hooked me up with a transport company, and it arrived within a week. Way cheaper than I expected for a big unit.

I was a bit skeptical buying a telehandler sight unseen, but the multi-point inspection report on Heavy Thing Auction was spot on. Engine hours, hydraulics, everything was accurate. The 10-day inspection period gave me peace of mind too.

Anyone had to use the 10-day inspection period for a refund? Just wondering how smooth that process is if the machine isn't as described. I'm looking at a generator around $15K.

I haven't personally, but my mate bought a forklift from Heavy Thing Auction and found a minor discrepancy with the attachment not being what was listed. They sorted him out with a credit for the difference, no arguments. Good mob.

The sales agent I dealt with for my roller was top-notch. Kept me updated on the deposit payment, freight tracking, and even called after delivery to check everything was sweet. That kind of communication is rare these days.

I got a Yanmar mini ex for $35K, which was a fair dinkum bargain compared to what local dealers were asking. The inspection report detailed the undercarriage wear perfectly. Saved me a bunch of coin.

Just confirming, for Heavy Thing, it's strictly a deposit then full cash payment, right? No financing options or anything? Want to make sure I'm prepared before I bid on a $100K+ loader.

That's right, mate. Deposit secures it, then the rest is cash. Good to plan ahead for those bigger items. But for the deals you can get on heavything.com, it's worth it.
